Its actually funny that you say that. The democrats looked like that compared to the Republicans not too long ago. Its amazing how much things have shifted.
This is the building where ALL the cowards and liars work - 3 days a week.
this kind of finger pointing reminds me of when I worked for a large metropolitan correctional facility. It was funny to hear murderers pass moral judgments on child molesters based on their crimes.
Tell me about it and they’re REALLY hard to get. My kid, who goes to a private school no less, had the “Grading system” for the semister sent home.
Apparently you can get an F for the first quarter, and F for the second quarter and a D on the final and somehow pass with a D. So in essence you can get a 0% first quarter, 0% for the second quarter, cheat your ass off for the final and pass with a 69% or so and Voila! you are gradgeated’…and this is a private school

Actually it’s not amazing at all once you realize NONE of them are leaders. As the opinion polls go, so go the so called “Leaders”. If Obama’s approval ratings drop to 40% or so your “Democratic leaders” will self implode just like the Reps did.
Just think what a strong republican leader could have done back then. The Democrats are definitely complicit in this, but I find it amazing that the Republicans couldn’t have taken care of this issue. Either it wasn’t that important to them, or the leadership was weak. Both parties receive an F.
Here’s how I’d score it:
Repubs: Policy: A (recommended more regulation)
Policy implementation: C (maybe should have done more but democrat attacks on Iraq had crippled Bush admin domestic strength)
Demo: Policy: F (didn’t care or didn’t believe there was problem)
Policy implementation: A (used Iraq to cripple Bush domestically and got exactly what they wanted)
Overall Grade: Democrats A+ played major role in crisis, then blamed Bush and used it to consolidate power.

Sounds like they had a similar grading system to what we used. Your scenario wouldn’t be so bad if they were high Fs and a high D.
We had to wieght them like a GPA. Final exam was worth 20%, each 1/4 was worth 40%, although you needed a C if you got 2 Es.
I could go on about our fucked up grading system, but here was a piece that was beautiful. Because of the grading system, this is what you needed on your final to move up or down a grade:
AA → a C guarantes you an A. A zero guarantes you a B.
AB → an A gets you an A. A zero gets you a B.
BB → a D guarantes you a B. A zero guarantes you a C. A is impossible.
BC → a B guarantes you a B. A zero guarntes you a C.
CC → A zero guarantes you a C.
CD → a C gets you a C. A zero gets you a D.
DD → an A gets you a C. A zero gets you a D.
Under this system it was very typical for 40+% of my students to not even bother taking the final. Students with CC or DD going into it knew that there was no point in taking it, since their grades were guaranted. The only people who really cared were the ones who had a different grade each marking period and cared enough to work for the higher grade. If they heard the final was hard, a lot of them would just take the zero and get the lower of the two grades.
Unfortunately, under a sensible system, those sitting right at 90% (90+=A) would fight to get that 90+ on the final. Under this system, they only need a 70. A student sitting right at 70% would fight to get a 70+ on the final. Under this system…a fucking 0% gets you a C?
Almost as frustrating as our dumb ass grading system were the dumb ass teachers who had no idea how bad it was. Most of them looked at me like I was crazy. “But what if a kid has a bad day?” Then he gets a lower grade than he would like and has to start getting used to the real world! WTF?
You say that like Iraq was something that happened to Bush. Last I checked, he wanted it and he got it.
No I didn’t (but understand your response), and agree he got what he wanted. Yes if Iraq was a blunder (no WMD), then he gets a D or F on this banking issue, since he blindly put all his political capital into the wrong issue, leaving him unable to deal with the more important issues.
