Time to get lower

Been breaking in the new P2 the last 3 months and I want to get lower this off season. I have several spacers and a angled up stem. Any rule of thumb on which to adjust first. Take a spacer out or get a lower angled stem or it doesnt matter? Or, I’m opening up a whole can of worms and just go to my fitter.

just flip the stem over
.

Do the spacers first since it’s a more granular adjustment (you can then flip the stem and add back the spacers, then go back to removing spacers). Remember that flipping the stem will slightly increase its reach (you may need to swap stems).

Flip the stem, jam the seat fwd.

HTFU.

Now Im nervous when you talk about jamming seats forward and all that jazz. Wont that…couldnt that screw up all the hip and knee angles we worked so hard to get during the fit?

The point of moving your saddle forward is to keep those angles roughly the same. Think of it as rotating forward around the bottom bracket. Move your seat forward (and very slightly up), and your forearms down.

I just did the same thing. 2 weeks ago I went from a -7 degree stem to a -17 degree stem, and I removed a 2.5 mm spacer. I increased my saddle-to-pad drop by a little under 3 cm to something like 15.5 cm.

I bought this bike with this exact position in mind, and I was pleasantly surprised that I didn’t require any other position changes. Full disclosure: I switched from 175 mm cranks to 170 mm cranks prior to this switch because I was as low as my thighs would allow with my old stem.
