Dang this time change and a sick baby coughing all night sure does make it hard to get in those early morning workouts. I’ve missed the last two mornings (afternoon workouts aren’t an option) and I have that horrible guilty feeling the rest of the day. Only 4 weeks until Texas 70.3! OK I’ll quit feeling sorry for myself. I just needed to vent! I know two missed days won’t kill me!! The most important thing is getting my little girl healthy again.
How old? I have a four month old with some upper respiratory congestion and we moved a humidifier closer to the crib. Worked like a charm to help little one sleep.
I have an 11 month old and we’ve had to borrow a nebulizer from the dr three times so far when his cough/congestion has gotten pretty bad. He hates the thing, but it does work. We also use a humidifier, and it seems to help. Our little guy has actually become a worse sleeper as he’s gotten older. He slept through the night from 3-5 months, but usually wakes up 1-2x a night now - the rare night without him waking up feels awesome.

You’ll be good man. Soon you’ll find out all this tri “stuff” is just that, stuff. That baby’s baby time is something you’ll NEVER get back, even if its being up all night, enjoy it. I hope she’s feeling better, and you’ll live to fight another day! Congrats!!!
Nate - at the risk of sounding like a hippy or a doctor - I’m neither - have you thought about diet? I guess you will have weaned your little one by 11 months, if you introduced solids or took him off breast milk at 6 months that might explain the change? What you put in 'em can make all hell break loose, there may even be an intolerance at work. Forgive the unsolicited advice!
Tex - my debut year as a Daddy was also my debut Ironman year, so I’m feeling your pain. Don’t fret a couple of missed workouts. My advice - think of your achievements in context. Doing this stuff is amazing, but doing it when you are that time-constrained and that tired is something else, way to go brother. We can brag harder because of this!
