Looks to me like the pro’s will be swimming without wetsuits … the water temp was posted as 78 today … if im correct anything over 78 is also a non wetsuit swim for age groupers … can someone confirm this for me. I hate wetsuits but at the same time im a really slow swimmer so this might be very bad for me.
I was just thinking today that might be the case… 76F is the AG cut-off. (72F is the pro cut-off.)
well i just found the website for the lake … and i also got an email from my friend up there … it is 78 degrees and has been for 3 days … poor us

Water temps have to be 78 or below for age groupers…Since the prize money is below $5K, pros can wear wetsuits as well. I still wouldn’t be too concerned about a non-wetsuit swim. The posted temps are usually quite a bit higher than what the USAT thermometer ends up showing. Last year, the posted water temp was 79, and the USAT posted temp was 75, I believe. Have faith!!! Nights are cooling off a bit, which helps. It’s just been HOT for the longest time…See you in a couple of weeks!
