This was taken as they were coming out of transition. The irony here is the next time through, Desiree had just passed her and had taken the lead by ten seconds never to look back. For all you who have not seen her in person, she is one of the few women I have ever seen who looks just as hot finishing the race as starting it

It’s called a race photo. Can catch muscles and skin (and hair, face, etc.) in some unusual positions while in motion.
I totally agree with Dawn…why can’t we just appreciate them for being friggin fast athletes…why do we need to constantly bring up how “presentable” athlete X is. It takes away from the accomplishment of how quickly she did the race…
Gotta chime in here…it was me telling my husband to take pictures of her. She is gorgeous! Just finished a HALF and looks fresh and beautiful. I lucky enough to be at the finish (where was everyone??) when she came in, 20th OV. She was looking around for the family and no one is there yet so I figure I am ten or so feet away so I will say something…

Where’s my freakin’ husband with the camera now? My daughters 8 & 10 totally in awe! All they hear at home is, class act - Desiree Ficker…she should be your idol! That’s who little girls should be like not the trash on TV.
Huge SMILE, totally beautiful and classy, greeted Kate Major with a “major” hug, and saw her with (I think) her grandmother…grabbed a vest then off to be interviewed. I was so blown away!

Hey, guys, it is quite obvious that she is hot…it would be nice if we could focus on the athletic accomplishment. If we want to see hot women, they are all over the internet, Maxim, FHM, Playboy etc etc :-). I like eye candy as much as the next guy, but I like Desiree for her athletic achievements first…there are lots of ladies out there just as hot

I probably watched 500 women run by me. Denise wasnt the only “hot” woman out there BUT she was the only “hot” woman who came in first. Thus, if it wasnt for her accomplished athletic performance, I would have never singled her out to comment on her beauty.

Well I have to say these women are pros and going fast is obviously objective # 1, but they are in position to dramatically increase thier earnings by looking great as well, after all this is how they make a living. By having a great personality and looking good while excelling athletically is a golden ticket. Im not saying this is necessarily right but it is reality. Im sure this is somthing Desiree is aware of based on the fact that there are race photos of her with eye liner running down her face. I say if they can increase thier earning by looking hot while racing fast all the more power to them!!!
