I was wondering about how the Timberman bike course with the changes compared to previous years. I am trying to get a sense of whether it was slightly easier or slightly harder. I am going to look at the pro bk splits but I thought it was also be helpful to see what others thought. For me it felt a bit more hilly and was slightly harder but not that different. Thanks.
That little side trip we took certainly felt hillier than when we pre-drove it the night before.
I think the fresh pavement on 106 probably offset that however, and I believe the entire rest of the course was unchanged, so it’s probably a wash, or close to it.
Certainly was good go-fast bike conditions for the most part. Minimal wind.
Never raced it the old way but that new part of the course has the steepest hill and a couple of very sharp turns. Not sure how it could do anything other than make the ride slower overall. That newly paved section is awesome…like the road was paved ny angles…
There was definitely a hil that I did not recall from the night before.
I’d say that little side trip we took on the way back just before getting off 106 for good probably made it a tad harder than previous years. First, just adding a couple of extra turns, plus adding a few extra hills instead of just cruising that last uninterrupted section of 106.
