I have some gloves for road bike use in cooler weather, but they seem to fit pretty loose. DHB brand.
Can someone suggest a tight fit cool weather glove? I like to ride TT in cool weather of 40 to 50 degrees outside but these gloves are a bit of a pain with the tight hand area of the cockpit on the TT bike for the di2 buttons.
I have a go-to for cold weather TT’s, but that’s with the understanding my hands will sweat crazy as it isn’t breathable. Basically a latex glove on inside of a really tight fitting anti cut glove. This is for training, I don’t want prune hands.
Thanks.
I like the Giro D’wool gloves. They are around $35.
They are quite thin and they breath very well, but somehow they also have the ability to keep my hands nice and warm. I can be comfortable in them in the low 40s or even at 70 degrees.
The downside: they don’t last forever. I’ve had mine for 3 years and I’ve had to sew up holes a few times. Other friends have had the same issue. I’d expect to get about a year out of them. But during that year they will be luxurious feeling, warm, and comfortable.
The Giro DND glove they are based on is a lot more durable. I wear them for pretty much everything.
Same price, often on sale. Obviously you don’t get all the many benefits of wool but for your hands who cares?
Dakine also makes some great midweight full finger gloves, I think for looking to the MTB market is the right way to find a full finger glove.
I have the standard DND ones too. You are correct. They lasted much longer.
But, i feel like the wool ones are warmer, softer, and worth it even though they wear quicker.
The showers pass knit gloves are one of my favorites for breathable cool weather gloves.
