**Quantity **and not quality best describes the threads there. I admit I lurked and even posted a couple times, but can’t hang out there long. The dudes just banter back and forth for page after page. There’s some interesting thoughts posted, but mostly its boring. Not that my posts are ever brilliant or memorable.
For high quality political discussion go to www.anandtech.com, forums, Politics and News. It is populated by a large number of college kids and heavy duty political junkies, including people actively involved in campaigns.
Quite a few flames too, but those guys are spending 20 hours per week reading politics, not training, so the level of detail is quite high.

The problem isn’t the posts.
You can cut the sexual tension in there with a very dull knife. What they need are more educated ladies. Though the lesser educated ones in the Hottie thread seemed to have helped some.
