Ti Bikes

A buddy is choosing between Blade, Tiphoon, Guru Ti, Guru Aero Ti. Anybody have experience comparing these bikes. Recommendations would be most welcome.

I would get one of each…cant go wrong with any of those.

I have an 05 Blade. I like it quite a bit.

I thought about all 4 of those bikes.

I dumped the idea of the Aero Ti bc I did not want a carbon rear end. I kinda thought that a Ti bike should be all Ti. (I also thought about customizing the Aero Ti with a solid Ti rear end but that would eb a new bike)

I then decided to go with ABG - bc they specialize in Ti. I love Guru - but for Ti, I thought it best to stick with ABG. And it did not hurt that ABG will subsidize the purchase through promotions and trade in allowances.

Between the Blade and the Tiphoon - I fit better on the Blade. Although it has a tall head tube, By using virtually zero spacers and a short headset cover - I can get it just about perfect.

And the Blade has a certain “sex appeal” missing in the Tiphoon. Maybe it is the history. Maybe it is the name. But it is something.

Vastly different fits on these bikes.

Go back to the drawing board and look at the following dimensions on these bikes: Head tube height. Seat tube angle. Front Center. Bottom bracket height. Chainstay length. Wheelbase. Actual measured length of the entire seat tube (NOT the “name” of the size). Head tube angle (Have you read what Dan has written about this?) Top tube length- super, super important.

These bikes are so expensive, and so nice, it pays to spend extra attention to getting the absolute best fit.

Ultimately, since each of these is so nice, the primary determining factor between them will be the way they interact with your body dimensions.

Which one do you like better?
