Thunder Road-IM version

Thunder Road-Ironman Version
Best if you read this as you listen to the Original

The door slams, expectantly we look upon the waves
Like a vision they dance across the horizon as it’s time to play
Breath in,….I pull the goggles down slowly
Hey, this is a way I have fun, but not the only
I turn my back to again, I have to face myself alone

You can’t run back inside, brother, you know just what we’re here for
So you’re scared and you’re thinking that maybe we ain’t that young anymore
Show a little faith in the magic…you know you will be alright
Forget your beauty, no one here will hold you tight.
Oh, and that’s alright with me

Its a waste of time to hide 'neath your covers trying to suoth your pain
It is time to pass your brothers, hopefully not throw your chain
Don’t waste your summer trying to avoid the pain
You are the savior rising from the streets

Well now, I ain’t no hero, that’s understood
All the redemption I can offer, brother, is to be a bit better than good
The chance to live is right now
Hey, what else can we do now?

Except to roll down the highway and let the wind blow through your hair
Well, the road’s busting open, these two lanes will take us all there
This is our chance to make it real
To make wings out of these wheels
It is time to attack, heaven’s waiting at the bike rack

Oh oh, come take my hand
We’re riding out hoping to make it to the promised land
Oh oh oh oh, Thunder Road
Oh, Thunder Road, oh, Thunder Road
Lying out there like a killer in the sun
We‘re already late, but we will make it to the run
Oh oh oh oh, Thunder Road
Sit tight, take hold, Thunder Road

Well, I got this bike and it is how I like to talk
I am patiently making tracks to avoid a long walk
Just trying to make it from T one to T three
The roads wide open, giving me space to be free
You know it will be lonely, with no words to be spoken
But today we’ll be free to keep all the promises unspoken

Your ghosts all die during the miles you put away
They haunt this long dusty road with the demons who died along the way
Those who screamed your name at night in your sleep
Now they all pass away underneath your feet
And the finish is comin as you move on
You’ll hear your name out loud before long
And when you get to mile 25, you’re gone on the wind
So brother roll in
Only quitting makes losers and I’m pulling in here to win

Well that is my screen-namesake, greatest song ever…

but,

Wow, is that you Bruce? Did you write that? Maybe you put a lot of time into it and really thought the Iron-themed stuff was cool. Honestly, it is horrible, I mean, to put it kindly, it sucks ass - the kind with those hemerroids that other thread was talking about. Good grief I feel like I’m clowning the grade school kid who wrote a gay Valentines poem to this girl he has a crush on, and his friends find it and read it and post it on the internet.

Consider this a flame or whatever you will, but you posted that here (for some reason) so you gotta be prepared for tomatoes - tomatoes with rocks in this case, and man do I need to throw up - repeatedly.

If you didn’t write it, please do us all a favor and copy and paste this to whoever did.

HOW COULD YOU DO THAT!!!

Holy Shit, you just pissed on Bruce Springsteen’s back.

There are some things in life that are just incredible the way they are. COULDN’T YOU JUST SING THE REAL “THUNDER ROAD” WITH THE RIGHT LYRICS AND BE INSPIRED?? Do you have to twist it with words that don’t flow and have to struggle even to rhyme?

UGH, I NEED TO PUKE, THEN I WILL COME BACK AND FLAME THIS PILE OF SHIT SOME MORE.

I’ll take over the flaming duties while you puke since you got my back while I was away dry heaving.

Indeed there are things in life that ought to be left alone like summer flings, the way a woman smells while watching the sunset, these lyrics for example…

good grief I think I’m getting sick again.
