The sports team WH visit is the dumbest thing in the world. It’s a tradition that has outlived its utility. It was a photo-op plain and simple. Once it became not that, it’s over.
On a related note, I’m not interested in going on a date with Jennifer Aniston. Doesn’t matter that she didn’t call me. I just want the world to know I wouldn’t her.

Winning football’s World Cup is a big deal. The media / public response is surprisingly muted and underwhelming.

Because it was expected? And it’s soccer? And, it’s women. People want to over-analyze the reasons why the USA general public isn’t going crazy but it’s really simple, it’s a women’s sporting event in a sport that really doesn’t take much attention already. No psycho-analysis BS, sexist anything - it’s just not interesting to many. And then the aspect that it was the expected outcome mutes it even more. It’s just the way it is. If the men’s team somehow made the finals of the WC I think there’d be a lot more Joe Americans tuning in and getting excited. Again - that’s just the way it is - underdog aspect and a men’s team.
And that’s OK. I’m happy for the people that really cared about the team and the games and that they’re happy with the result. Not my cup of tea (hehe) but I probably wouldn’t tune in for a men’s match either.
