Looking for feed back on the 2009 aluminum felt bikes. Anyone test ride them, or own them? I would test one out, but it’s -25 as I type this and windchill on the bike would be -50. You have to love the midwest in the winter.
What are you looking for?
My cyclocross bike is an aluminum Felt F35x that I beat the crap out of and it rides great when I hit the pavement … of course, that is on 30-34c tires! I like their geometry (which is why I got it) and price. Welds/paint seem fine (on par with Trek, Cannondale, etc.) I have already killed the front Shimano 105 shifter, front brakes and a chain in 1 season though ![]()
Sorry, Triathlon bikes. I wont use this for anything other then tri’s and training for tri’s.
Thanks.

What specifically are you looking for Feedback on?

I own 3 aluminium Felts. Tri, Road, and Cross. Love 'em all. They all have outstanding value and performance.
Shoot me any specific questions you may have.

felts are nice bikes but I don’t think any manufacturer’s welds are on par with cannondales

Cannondale can do AL bikes, that is for sure (and they definitely don’t get the press they deserve). But I disagree - ever see the welds on a Guru?

I think the only '09 Felt tri bike in AL is the s32. Though you may still be able to pick up an s22 someplace. In larger frame sizes, aluminum can get flexi but I believe Felt varies the thickness of the walls close to the welds to minimize it. I’m a fan of the S22 since it still has the carbon forks/stays and seatpost. The funny thing is, they got rid of th S22 and replaced it with the carbon b16 which has a lower component set, downgraded wheels, and is actually heavier than the AL model it replaces. …go figure that one out.
I was talking to a store owner that has Felts and he said that Felt was actually LOSING money on the s-22 since it was “worth” more than the msrp- deep dish wheels, ultegra sl, nice fsa cransket, carbon seat, fork, and stays made for a great deal for me, but obviously not for Felt!
