I’m considering picking up a B14 or B12. Both are compatible with the Felt/TorHans bottle system. Have many of you used this? What are your thoughts?
Specifically:
-Can I freeze the bottle?
-Is it easy to grab and drink from?
-Does it mount well? Have you ever ejected it? Does it rattle?
-Is there any way to force it into becoming a tool box of some sort?
Is there any chance that TorHans will come out with an true toolbox version of this bottle?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Totally missed that one-thanks for the link!
Useless to drink from but works out well as a flat/tool kit without compromising aero. Need a little tape to make sure its secure though, I did launch it once hitting a bump in a race.
I use mine as a flat kit; I cut off the bottom and it works very well.
Had mine set up for IMAZ with all my gels mixed with water. Then used an extra TH straw to drink from. Worked great.
My sister gave me one on my last birthday for my DA4 that I bought before the bottle became standard equipment. For the life of me, maybe I have weak hands, I cannot grab it and pull it out. So it sits on the bike, empty, but looks cool and possibly makes it more aero. Because I can’t pull it out without considerable effort, it never flies out on is own, doesn’t rattle, nor did it leak when I did have water in it. Plus, easy to mount - need fairly long hex wrench. I took the slick Lezyne Alloy bottle cage that was there and three zip ties and made a BTA carrier out of it.
You might want to read the last line more carefully.
I think they are great. I use mine for nutrition, typically I mix Hammer Perpetuem for fueling throughout a Half, and use a BTA bottle for hydration. I have no problems grabbing and drinking from it, but it obviously is not as easy as my BTA bottle.
I have never ejected it, but it has popped out of its tabs, but remained in the carrier once on a really bad bump.
