Hi folks,
Just polling out which pads you are running on the Bontrager Aeolus (D3) newest wheels.
- Bontrager cork?
- Zipp Tangering gray (carbon pad)?
- Swisstop Yellow (heard some stories these are bad for heat & Bonti rims)
Thanks in advance
Steve

Hey mate, I use the zip tangente platinum pro brake pads on my bontrager rims… I have been really happy with performance and feel and so far durability has been fairly good…
They are a bit more expensive than some brake pads but from my experience they are the best…
I have heard that Swiss top yellow pads can leave a yellow tinge on some rims…
Goodluck

Thanks,
I’ve been using the Zip grays on my FC 303s and am very happy with wear/performance. I’ve been reading that there were some “issues/warnings” on using the yellows with Aeolus wheels. Good to know that the team uses Black Prince swisstop pads. I’ve got a fairly new set of Zipp grays so I’ll throw those on the D3s when they arrive.
bontrager cork pads all the way. Told not to use Swiss Yellows. They were great this summer coming down the Sonara pass at speeds about 50 down to zero on the tight turns.

Thanks for letting me know, good to know I have options.
What is the issue with the Swiss Yellows on Aeolus wheels, haven’t heard this?
I didn’t ask, but I think they DIG in the brake track. All I know is my trusted liason at the Trek Service Course told me CORK PADS. Works for Bontrager and Leopard Teams so it works for me.(I did think the same thing though) ON another note the BLUE pads with Reynolds work perfect on Reynolds and didn’t feel the same on the Bontragers before I switched pads thinking why not use the same pads on all my wheels.
Bontrager cork. I’ve never had a problem and the braking has been excellent.
