>^.^<, this one's for you!

kittycat and her cadre of knitters, I found a book for you. While reading this month’s issue of Yoga Journal, I read a review of a book by Tara Jon Manning called Mindful Knitting and Compassionate Knitting.

I don’t know what it is about so I’ll give some of the quotes from the author and OM director Cyndi Lee. “What does yarn have ot do with Downward Dog? You need to stay present when you knit, even if you are just doing a garter stitch and don’t have to pay super close attention.” Also, “Touching the yarn and needles gives us a feeling of being connected to ourselves and our world. This connection is what oga is all about.”

Well, I don’t know about all of that, but you know Yoga, knitting, triathlon…It’s all good, right?

i’ve seen that book, and it is neat. a g-friend i knit with is really into yoga, and was thinking about getting that book for her actually!

and yes, i agree–yoga, knitting, tri, it’s all brilliant…and definitely brings so much reward when it’s all laced together.

another book i found lately that i love is Knitting for Peace. good stuff.
