SO much for all the attacks against the chicken. The couple there were were so weak that he didn’t even have to get out of the saddle to close the gaps…Anyone still question who the strongest rider is now??? Great race, Rabobank rode the best team ride since Lance’s old Discovery team. I got to hand it to Saster, he went for it, I had him top 3 in my picks, but he paid the price of an early break. It’s easy to say go early, way different thing to make it stick…
And please let’s keep this a race discussion, you disgruntled fans who can only talk about drugs stay in to the other threads that are beating that topic to death…
Man can the chicken climb! Great to see Levi and Contador try though. Still not over, but looks like Rasmussen will be circling the Arc in yellow. I’m really most impressed by the Discovery team as usual. Bruynell really is a great DS.
Funny that the Contador fans were upset at the motorcycles the other day as they thought if they were further away he could have attacked more. Yet now Ras wants them moved out he is a whiney b… person.
It must have made you proud watching that whiney bitch flick his hand at the motor bikes. A true champion. \
I don’t get you guys, if it’s not one thing it’s another. He wanted the bikes out of the way so they could have a fair race. What spin do you all have on a fair race??? Just because you all jump on every car you can in your races, doesn’t mean that everyone thinks like that…
Yeah it was really a great ride “wink wink”. I’ll give to you that he’s a great climber always has been but come on Monty that performance in the time trial has got to make you wonder especially about someone who has never before this year’s tour been able to time trial at all. In fact the guy was such a laughing stock that they let him get away in the Alps figuring they would pull back a ton of time on him. It’s not even like he’s been able to do it in any other race this year -
You know bike racing, Monty. All 3 of those guys knew that Ras was by far the strongest rider (including the Chicken himself). So his flicking his hand at the motor bikes was just a little whiney, and a little bitchy for my taste.
Not something a champion should do, and I didn’t like it.
I’ll give to you that he’s a great climber always has been but come on Monty that performance in the time trial has got to make you wonder \\
Being that it was a hilly, technical TT, why do so many of you think it was not possible??? Now the next one will not be so kind to him, but how long is everyone going to keep comparing him to his first ride on a tt bike??? IS he not allowed to go to the wind tunnel and dial in his position?? Or does one bad tt have to follow you forever???
Rasmussen must have had a three year plan in the works. His history certainly helped him win the Tour. Most other climbers of his caliper would not have been given that long a leash on the stage to Tignes. Good for him, he played his cards perfectly.
It might be a little more believable if that was all that was happening if there were some other previous results to look at. I mean the guy barely raced before the tour and has no speakable results in a time trial this year that I could find.
it’s embarrassing that you are defending the guy… \\
I defending his race tatics and that of his team. I’m not making any personal attacks or defenses… I’m watching the race, and not spectulating on what may or may not be going on behind the scenes…I have my suspicions, but I’m watching and enjoying the race as it is…I liked the chicken from the very beginning, just as I liked Lance for 6 of his 7 years. And I got attacked then, the same as now in my support for the strongest riders…I’m not embarassed to be a cycling fan, but I also understand what’s going on in ALL pro sports today…
