This is crazy

CHeck out this eBay item

20 x IM Lake PLacid 2005 Finishers medals…

How - why and WTF??

Surely IMNA would not condone this.

yep, i agree. what do you do with your finisher medals? most of the hardware i get ends up in the trash. imagine buying it outright.

actually, it’s not CRAZY, it’s kind of sad.

I don’t know which is more amazing, the fact that some schmuck managed to get hold of 20 of these things, or the fact that anyone would actually buy one. Earlier this year people on this forum were getting upset about some schmuck selling his Kona finisher’s medal on ebay. He seemed to have been a lottery entrant, if that makes any difference to your opinion.

I’m hoping to get a finisher medal in two weeks. It will then sit in a cardboard box under a pile of other useless junk in my basement for the next 60 years before my grandkids throw it into the garbage while clearing out my house and hunting for my hidden fortune. But no way could I sell the damned thing.

I doubt that they will get ANY bids - but what amazes me is that this person gets a hold of these two weeks before the race.

Maybe associated with the trophy/medal production company???

Just plain wrong

well, i already have imlp 2005 tattooed on my taint and i’m not even racing…and i didn’t even need copyright permissions. go figure.

on a side note, i have some great seats for 2012 olympics baseball finals. since you are a fellow slowtwitcher i can let them go for $475 a piece. i’m putting them up on ebay tomorrow so PM me if you want them.

If I were an artist, I might be interested in these things…create some sort of pop-art piece…either that or melt them down for the metal…IF I could get them cheap enough…

Not much other use for them, though…

Would make a nice belt buckle
