This Gives New Meaning to the Term Moonbat--Shakes Head, Walks Away

For real??

A lesbian couple in California who say their 11-year-old son Tommy may actually be a girl named Tammy are giving their child hormone blockers that delay the onset of puberty – so that he can have more time to decide exactly who he, or she, is.
The couple’s supporters say the Hormone Blocking Therapy has only minor side effects and is appropriate for a child who is unsure of his gender. “This is definitely a changing landscape for transgender youth,” said Joel Baum, director of education and training for Gender Spectrum, a California-based non-profit group. “This is about giving kids and their families the opportunity to make the right decision.”

The low point of my day just happened.

I’m pretty sure this is the 6th sign of the apocalypse.

The seventh is the new Adam Sandler movie I saw the trailer for over the weekend.

I imagine that these drugs have to be prescribed so if a doctor knowingly prescribed them shouldnmt he or she be in jail along with the “parents”?

The may be a record for the most incorrect use of the word parents.

Moonbats?

I think idiots would be a more appropriate term.

If this is the worst thing you’ve ever heard of parents doing to a child, thinking it’s in their best interest, I envy your life.

Aren’t you the guy who was up in arms over the harm parents inflict by circumcision?

Still am. Just saying this in no way sets the standard for shitty parenting. It ain’t good, that’s for damn sure, but we’ve all seen far worse.

I hope to hell you kidding or channeling your inner Yahey because that is possibly the dumbest comment I have read in LR.

Seriously I have more respect for you than that even though we may not see eye to eye on certain things but that is just some some F’ed up flawed logic.

Honestly you need to step away from the keyboard. And no one said it was the pinnacle of child abuse but it sure as hell is up there.

What don’t you get? Reference the case of the faith healer’s daughter who died of treatable juvenile diabetes. Maybe you don’t think he was doing what he felt was right for her? Or maybe you think hormone treatments that delay puberty is worse than death?

As I said, this in no way sets the standard for shitty parenting, though it certainly qualifies as that.

It sure as hell ranks right up there. This is fine shitty parenting.

Maybe you could just read what I typed rather than inferring anything beyond it and drawing ridiculous conclusions?

No doubt. Some people seem so caught up in their ideology they can’t see straight anymore. Giving a prepubescent child hormone therapy for that purpose meets that description in my book.

Once upon a time there was a debate about whether to let homosexual couples adopt and raise children. Some right wing wacko conservative said that something like this might happen and they were laughed at and ridiculed. And yet, here we are.

Read Hubblesmith’s post above if you have any more questions.

Apparently homosexual couples can be as bad of parents as heterosexual parents. Who knew?

Read Hubblesmith’s post above if you have any more questions.

My prediction: As much a problem as Rodred had with your first post, he will have absolutely no problem with what Hubblesmith posted.

Why bother defending justifying or downplaying it. How about just saying its abuse.its not that difficult

I really didn’t think the painfully obvious need be explicitly stated among intelligent people. My mistake.
