a little earlier today an athlete was accused of taking performance enhancing drugs on this forum. perhaps i haven’t been clear about this in times past. but…
we don’t accuse people of taking PED’s. we can report that they did, with documentation. but we don’t accuse them.
i can find no shred of evidence that the athlete in question ever took PEDs, let alone ever got caught. obviously you can’t disprove the converse, but that goes for any athlete in any sport. the onus is on the accuser to show evidence, and being a good athlete is not evidence, nor is simply being in a sport that has had a drug problem.
we don’t take down our own on this forum through cheap shots, whether it’s a manufacturer, retailer, or athlete. if you’ve got some sort of documentation that a product is unsafe, an RD is a money launderer, a retailer is a wife beater, or an athlete is a cheat, fine, place it here if you so choose. but you need to have ironclad proof to back you up.
There is documention saying that they question there drug usage. The athlete that is in question has never had anything publiced about PED or illegal drugs for that matter. Look at Tyler’s case, there was a ton of documentation about it. Lance has a book written about him that has accusation in it. The person that got slammed has never had anything like that (first I heard too).

but, with Lance, only allegations have been made…never charged…which seem to be the same thing that SL was questioned about in the other post…things have been “documented” - but i could “document” that i’m a ninja, that doesn’t mean i am.

…and it’s probably only b/c he’s MUCH higher profile. People can make money off of accusing Lance and writing books about it…no one’s going to make a dime off of accusing a domestic professional triathlete, albeit a world-class one at that.

i don’t recall anyone ever saying here that lance has been popped for PEDs, or even that lance had definitely taken PEDs (other than EPO during chemo), whether he’d had a positive or not. had that been done, or if that is done, then that post gets pulled. repeat offenders are uninvited to the forum.
I have never said anyone has taken drugs but i did have two posts removed today,no dirty words no talk about Tibbs,just that i raced a Uscf race with someone who had just returned from the Olympics,not this year but in the past,then i went on to say if the rules allow retired pro to race AG thats fair,in answer to Cathys post,i also said if Lance showed up at a USCF race i would have to compete or go home,Did i say something wrong???

although I’d love to kidney punch you, you only have to look back to yesterday to see the last thread where an Olympic medalist got accused of cheating without proof afaik.
I know the “athlete in question” and his lovely spouse. He is indeed a great guy. To see someone post such crap about him is sad. People should think a little bit more about how hurtful some of these comments can be to these individuals and their families…
