Anyone know of a company that makes thin brake pads??? i haven’t the room to run a full thickness brake pad on the rear of my bike…thanks, Dean
Your old brake pads + Your belt sander = Your new thin break pads ![]()
.
I can send you my old ones. They’re thin. ![]()
My Kool Stop pads are a bit thinner that what I was using before. Dunno if they’re thin enough for you.
What kind of calipers/rims are you using that won’t allow standard pads?
Campy Athena calipers on a Javelin Aero frame…it’s not a function problem it’s the way the frame is designed and the caliper arm with the cable holder hits the frame so it is very limited to how far it will open, hence the thinner pads needed instead of the stock Campy ones…
If it’s the rear caliper and it’s hitting the seat stays when it opens sometimes adding a spacer or two between the brake and the seatstay mount moves the brake away from the stays enough so it’ll open freely. Most brakes ship with two spacers, I’ll usually try to use only one but in a situation like yours two might do the trick.
Thanks…i’ll give it a shot…
