Thieving F****RS, my shop ramraided

So I rock into work yesterday morning to find the front door completely smashed in. Spent most of the day chasing up police, telephone, alarm, locksmith, insurance. What an f’n nightmare!!! Decided they would trash the shop for fun aswell. They have clearly done it before, cut the telephone lines to stop the alarm monitoring picking up an activation. Still doing a tally of what we lost, so far 26 bikes about 200 items of clothing and various other things including helmets, nutrition products, lights. It just guts me that people out there pull this sort of shit, I was really pretty upset. :frowning:

Sorry to hear man, that sucks.

Keep an eye on eBay and the local Craigslist for the bikes for sale.

Wow, that’s the kind of thing that keeps me up at night. I’m sorry!

I’ve been told there is a special place in Hell for bicycle thieves.

Inventory everything they took including serial numbers etc and post it on every cyaling/triathlon site you can find.

You’ll track this stuff down faster then the cops.

I used to own a running shoe store and it happened to us once. It’s a horrible mix of emotions when you walk up to your storefront and see the smashed glass and realize that you’ve been robbed. Good luck with the insurance and I hope you can recover some of your inventory during the important holiday sales season.

sixdog:

That royally sucks. Hope you were adequately insured. Trashing the place is plain low. Hope you’re back up soon.

Ric

Thanks guys, it’s just such massive disruption to business especially at this time of year.

That really sucks - and as always its not so much about the property - and I assume you are fully insured - but the emotions this crap generates. My mom used to run a high end ladies clothes shop and it was busted one night - it was the first time I saw her melt down.

Good luck and keep an eye on various web sites to see if anything pops up.

Our house got burglarized one year. Not much stolen as we don’t have alot of high end electronics (I got my stereo in the late 60’s) but they totally tossed our bedroom looking for guns and jewelry (no guns but lost some diamonds.
$4 to $5000 total.
However, it was so creapy going to sleep in our bedroom knowing that these guys had been there and done that. I weird sort of violated feeling stayed with us for a long time.
Police never did anything of consequence but I imagine it would be pretty difficult in a large city like Houston.

Dude, sorry.

Do you want to list the bikes in case anyone finds them in line somewhere? The “family” is here to help…!

I’m sorry to hear about that. I hope they catch em.

Not to brush off your loss at all, but perhaps to lighten the mood…

Someone stole my bar bike last week. This is the $50(brand spankin’ new) Murray (no suspension) mountain bike that my little brother got when he was 14. I left it outside believing that nobody would take it.

I liked to ride it (gently) between bars on group pub crawls/rides. No hopping curbs, no big chain ring, just coasting on the sidewalk from one bar to the next, bikepath home.

It was completely without value. It had no front brake, so forget singletrack. The fork was trashed; my little brother took a bad spill on it last year when the fork bent mid-ride and the front wheel locked up, tossing him over the handlebars. Rust? Everywhere. I’m surprised the chain still went around. This is the kind of bike you have to pay even the biggest bike geek to take. Hey–I thought any work on it was a lost cause.

But I loved it and someone took it. I hope the fork gives out on them and they roadrash their face.

I’m down in little ol NZ, so the place thay are most likely to show up is trademe (NZ version of e-bay)
.

So sorry to hear & at this time of year as well
.

Happened at Hot cycles twice while I was there - once for the Plasma TV and the other time for a GT I-Drive 1.0. Learned a lot about the tricks for getting around alarm systems from those incidents. Now there are bollards out the front (against council regs but what else can be done?).

Sorry to hear that they hit you, this would be your strongest time of the year for the family market. I assume they took Konas and Marins? Post on Sportzhub and Vorb to notify people what to look out for.

aaargh sorry to hear this bro…hope they catch the fken thieveng cts!

STers…i’ve been to sixdog’s shop (it wasn’t yesterday morning!!!), he appears to run a neat little operation. judging by his local demographic, & target market of the gear he stocks, i bet there are some kids xmas presents that just went out the door too…that sh*t makes me sick

good luck with the insurance & cops & stuff

man i hope you had that PX Stealth tucked up tightly in bed that night(???) ;o)

.

.

yeah they got a few kona jump bikes, mainly haro and redline bmx’s though, but they took so much clothing though. Arm warmers, booties everything. I suppose they are gonna sell it at markets or something but not the easiest thing to move.

yeah. I had the stealth in the car, was pretty lucky there.
