I need a car. Anyone know of anyone who had a car booked and is not going to Clearwater?? Any ideas?
No direct help for the question posted, but I will be down there by myself, so I could provide an occasional lift, if worse comes to worse.
What about an off site car rental site. it would be a hassle but you could still get a car.
I freaked out when you posted that, ran to the computer and starting searching for cars. Then remembered that I booked one about 8-10days ago.
Do a google search for Tampa car rentals. I’m sure Enterprise and others would have off-site rentals available and would pick you up at the airport.
Try again. That can’t be. Tampa is a pretty big town. I lived there for 10 years. A triathlon is not going to put a dent in the airport rental cars.

For grins, I just checked Travelocity and Expedia and both say they can’t provide any cars as requested. This seems rather bizarre as I didn’t specify any type, and there has to be a few classes of vehicle (e.g. very expensive, or very small size) that must still be available. It could be a computer/booking system problem.
Maybe try giving some of the larger rental companies a direct call (assuming you haven’t already done so) and double check to see if there is anything available.
