There it is, my new tri bike design, like discussed earlier this year

So here it finally is, it took quite a bit of time, energy and money but to be honest I’m quite proud with the final design.
Together with Joshua from @culpritbicycles we looked carefully at the cockpit. The task was major adjustability, but still a sort of easy way to take it off for travel without the need to be like a half bike mechanic. And I think we succeeded in that.
So the cockpit will be branded Culprit, Josh deserves that.
It has 0-30 degree aerobar tilt, extra reach or not options, and easy to adjust spacer stack, still to accept 22.2 extensions or full armsupports. And all without the need of extra to buy parts.
The base bar is 40 cm wide, 100 mm stem integrated. Grips are 5 degree up to give that little extra support when holding them.

Further I wanted enough top tube storage to hold at least 10-12 gels/bars/chews. That’s why the top tube will act like the bento, not with a plastic insert, it is the top tube itself that is the bento.
The bottom bracket storage is also so big you can use it for at least 2 tubes, 3 Co2’s, levers and/or even a mini charger pump. We are looking if we are going to add the option to use it as a hydration pack option, but to be fair almost nobody says these systems work well. I have had many talks with Speedmax, Cube, Cadex, QR customers and almost nobody is really happy with the function of those integrated hydration systems.

The looks are a mix of Trek SC, Canyon Speedmax, Cube and more because it is hard to create a bike with normal looks, so nothing like Cadex, Cervelo PX, etc, because I want it appealing for a large public. That said, with some small things and lines I hope it still looks a little different to others.

Stack and reach in S, M, L and Xl resp. 525/410, 545/435, 565/460 and 585/480, seat angle at 79 degrees and together with the different cockpit options it offers a massive range of fit options. Will add full chart in the coming weeks as we are in the last phase of the design of the XS which is a little more complicated.

For the EU we are looking at a price € 5.5K for 105 mechanic shifting and € 6.5K 105 Di2 incl either an 88/60 mm or 60/40 mm wheelset. Our goal still remains to make an affordable bike with features of bikes twice the price and keep our sport accessible.

That is a sharp looking bike. Looks like lots of adjustability and storage. Well done.

Great job Jeroen!! I love following you and all you do!

Is it just me or is the stack really, really tall? The Cervelo P5 is 516/433 for the (56) compared to the Medium which is 545/435? Is that correct? I need the 433 reach, but need a stack closer to 500 to get my pads where they need to be.

Have you seen how high extensions sit now?

This isn’t a bad thing if it is high.

Really cool @TRIPRO will add it too the list for January.

Would be very keen on a riser base bar option.

By riser you mean like a cervelo and Tririg? Problem is 2 fold.

  1. Once you cut, your forced to buy another monopost. and with that you also need to cut if your fork is not bayonet style to hide cover it, plus that leads to head tube clearance issues.
  2. Patents. Tririg and Cervelo have really well written patents. I do know away around them to avoid the clamping machanism they are using. but, back to point 1, is it really better than just removing 2 bolts and reinstalling with more or less spacers. This system doesnt change your angles/ adjustment to pads when you change stack, so I don’t see a reason for that right now.

Agreed

I love the TriRig riser so simple and fast

Especially with aero testing so common place now a days. A simple process to lower bars. - test - raise bars - retest etc.

Especially with SRAM. No wires to mess around with

Also would like an SRAM option.

Never going back to shimano

Take my money. I’ll buy the first XL ready for purchase.

Congratulations, it looks great!

You might want to reconsider having “Vanquish” written on the wheels, and it will likely be problematic as a bike related brand in some locales, certainly the US. You’ll pretty much force HED to C&D you with this.

I need to figure out how to sneak a new bike in the house.

Two bottles that high seems like the steering would be a wee bit sketchy.

That is adjustable.

It’s not. Here’s my bike from yesterday with a new culprit 2 piece aerobar but same bta system

But I will likely be offering a shorter version that will help with different assemblies and Vanquish probably will benefit from a shorter model with less range due to where it mounts on this aerobar design.

When you compare it to a real TT bike, yes it is taller, the P5 has little left to do with being a triathlon bike. If you look at the positions of the guys riding yesterday in Nice and in other races you see the cockpits come up and forward. We have done testing and followed riders this season that went to these positions coming from sometimes 30 mm less armpad stack and also less reach. All of them had not only better Cda numbers but more important rode all of them faster times this season and had better run times, head positions were better which is important with the new gen of helmets and power easier to maintain.
And look how many AG ride a P5 with a huge monoriser sticking up……

That said, our M could be also labeled 54, hence the 54ish stack, and a P-series, Cervelo’s real tri bike comes in a 56 comes at stack of 549 with reach 422, a 10 mm dust cap and 40 mm of spacers, -7 degree stem.
A 54/M Plasma comes at 535 and 417.5 and you still see a lot of riders on the Plasma having the need for a high spacer tower. And I can name few more frames.

Our bike has no spacer option below the stem.

So ours doesn’t have to be your fit, but trust me it will be for a lot of riders after collecting a lot of fit data.

I mean like this apologies.

It can be ordered with any groupset you like, the named ones were just for reference.

Yeah, in the render pictures they did that. I realized myself that when all work was done. That said, on the Hed wheels, which are great, the name label Vanquish is only there very small, barely visible so I don’t think consumers are in doubt. Nor do we have any intention pretending to sell Hed wheels.

are you referring the to basebar with a rising wing?
