The stick IT band issues

I have a gofit foam roller that really helped get over my IT band issues. The roller is losing it’s shape and stiffness and I need a new one. I was gonna get The Stick and wasn’t sure which one would be good for me. Should I get the marathon stick or the original that is 2 feet long? Any thoughts on which is best or easier to use for working the muslces and IT band?

After trying other models, I have settled on one called the Big Stick. I found the others provided too much flex.

Not sure if you have actually tried the stick or not but if its for your IT, it wont work.

Buy a new foam roller or one of Trigger Points products

Why won’t the Stick work for the IT Band?

I have been trying it for the last several days.

A stick is great for lots of things, but not really for IT band issues IMO. I personally need really hard, deep massaging, and i cant really get that with a stick (I actually don’t use a foam roller either though)

The Stick is awesome for quads, calfs, etc…but DON’T USE IT FOR THE ITB. If you have ITB problems, it’s almost 100% guaranteed to be caused by tight or weak muscles at the hip. NOT the ITB itself. Get a worn out tennis ball and put it under the side of your hip targeting the Tensor Fascaie Latae (or however you spell that). Chances are it will hurt like hell, but that’s the actual muscle that attaches to the ITB. Do some hip hikes (standing sideways on a step or similar) and use the tennis ball around on your hips. My nagging ITB issues were resolved in a matter of days by targeting the correct muscles rather than trying in intense futility to massage out the ITB itself…
