Was held yesterday at Bikesport in Dearborn Michigan for those of you that missed it here are some pics.
Left to right. Our official timer for the PATT, Uk Gear Muncher (Bryce) Tom D, Wants2ridefast and Julian.
The pre race meeting.
SuperDave and Julian.
How come when I go to a LBS in my area the manager is always talking to his salesman/wrench, and then they both rush over to try and sell me something I don’t need. And Bikesport always looks like this.
Of course how many bikeshops have a leather couch to chill on after the local TT. “this couch is the best thing I ever bought for the store”…Tom D
Superdave holding court. Bigskies17 is in the white long sleeve shirt.
All in all a great day. I took part in my first TT, loved it and will be back. Julian and Bryce are a couple of really great guys, first class, and it was a pleasure to meet and hang out for a while with them. I learned a lot about bikefit just from watching Tom fit a couple of people while we were there. What a great day.
That is until I left to get to work. I knew there was construction on my route home (duh, its michigan) so I gave myself an extra 1/2 hour to get home, i arrived at work a 1/2 hour late. Oh well, won’t have missed it for the world.
Each year a few days stick out as great days in the bike business. Yesterday was one of them. Thanks for helping make it so Jim, and all the customers who came through the door yesterday (and today, when we’re technically closed, but its pretty full in here today too with Julian and Bryce and a couple other walk-in type customers.)

Because, ironically, many bike retailers don’t understand even the basics of selling. Odd that they are in that business, but seem to have no clue how to actually go about selling something to someone. I say this with the utmost respect, because many of these people come to the business with a huge amount of knowledge and a tremendous passsion for the sport - both key ingredients - but they fail to realize that building solid relationships with customers over the long haul( just like training!!) is where the real success lies.
