I appreciate the links - I read the reviews of the book and watched the video, interesting idea. I put a request for this book at our public library.
It reminded me of a book I read sometime ago about the Federal Reserve, and how it was created and pushed thru following the crash of 1907. The argument was that the US needs a stabilizing central bank to moderate the markets.
BTW, the Federal Reserve is not really ‘federal’ in the way most think it is. It is not part of or an agency of the US gov’ment. It is a privately owned for-profit bank that by controlling the money supply and interest rates, determines what your monthly car and house payments will be. And not only that - but the loans it and other banks make, as in your mortgage or payments by the US gov’ment - - those monies do not come from or are backed by anything / anywhere. Those monies are merely conjured up from thin air with a built in debt (profit to the Federal Reserve). Via taxes we pay to satisfy the national debt, and thru our own personal debt, we are all working for the money changers (Federal Reserve).
