The SECOND neurotic IMMoo weather post... Tom Demerly – this could be huge…

Let’s see how two-faced I can be here. I told Mr. Demerly to quit worrying about the weather when he made the FIRST neurotic IMMoo weather post and now I’m doing it. This has been a weird taper. First I went to complete pissyness in the first 48 hours and that has pretty much passed – now I just feel at loose ends – a feeling I don’t have a lot of experience with – its odd. So I decided to get the extended forecast for Madison and of course couldn’t find it but did come up with the following. Given the age of my collarbones I like dry roads. They claim a 85% accuracy rate. Yellow means dry.

I was about to post the same link. CAUTION: The forecast listed there has has changed 10 degrees (from 65 and rainy to 75 and sunny) in the last 24 hours.

That would be very nice (no rain), but, I am concerned about the temperature. Did a 12 mile run on Sunday (west of Milwaukee, WI) and blew away my race pace (by 30 sec per mile) finishing feeling like I could easily go another 8 or more. It was 75-80 degrees with little humidity. One week prior, I tried the same run and barely finished the sucker, averaging 5 sec per mile slower than race pace. It was mid-90s and insanely humid. So, dry would be nice, but let’s hope for mild temps and humidity.

Looks like it could be great weather. Then again this same forcast was calling for 60’s and rain for thurs-sun. of race week on Sat. night. It is changing daily (of course, it is still a long range forcast)

I will be the person on the course in arm warmers - I have been training in 95 - 100 degrees and really sucky humidity.

A month or so ago I headed north for the weekend and I think it was mid-60s when we clicked in and people were looking at me like I was an idiot becuase I had them on. Took them off around noon. Hey, its all relative…

This is awesome Bob- Thank you very much- I appreciate it!

Guys,
I sat up close to madison in '05 and watched the forecast go from 75 and sunny on monday which gradually turned into infernal hell come race day. These people don’t know what the heck is going to happen…best case scenario, you get a pretty face to watch on TV and that is it!

Amen. Wait until at least next week to begin the panic or celebrations.

OK, for the truly OCD weather watchers, here you go. Roughly in order of increasing usefulness - here are some sites you can truely obsess over. Enjoy.
