I am almost 8 weeks out from rotator cuff repair. Had the other done 8 years ago snd I just dont remember this much swelling and anxiety around full return to function! Eight years equals a different body, different mindset. Hubby spent 4 of those weeks(early on) i hospital with sepsis. That complicated recover for me for sure- holding the fort down alone with one arm!
Don’t overdo it with that one arm - you might injure your rotator cuff

I’m sorry the recovery is taking so long and is so different 
well, I made it about 2.5 months before setting the smoke detector off in my new apartment while cooking. Alas today ended the streak. Was a very little amount of smoke- I just had some tofu start to blacken.

Our view from the beach in South Haven just before we took off for the car and proceeded to get DRENCHED in the 7 blocks it took to get back to the car. We had just gotten set up about 15 minutes earlier.

Good on you for recognizing it and getting to safety. I read an article last week about a family visiting the beach near Tampa. Four of them were struck by lightning. The father died. Some people ignore the dark clouds and it costs them dearly.

That’s sad. We live in thunderstorm alley - “when thunder roars, go indoors”.
Not worthy of its own thread so I’ll leave this here. I was mowing my yard this morning and I was admiring the temporary MacGyver zip tie fix for a lost wheel bolt on my lawnmower.
So this “temporary” fix was made in the fall of 2024, but still holding strong!
I’m sure others have similar half-ass repairs that turned into permanent fixes. Blep’s tarp shingling comes to mind. Whatcha got?
For me, the level of half-assery is directly proportional to the consequences of failure. For my lawnmower, its pretty low so the zip tie will remain in place for the foreseeable future.
For the trailer in this Youtube clip, I’d say the consequences of a failure are pretty high!
I’ve got to give credit to the guy in the video, though it seems like it could be dangerous for any vehicle behind him. If you don’t have a spare tire and need to get the trailer home, I guess it works.

I remember getting caught in a flash-flood inducing downpour about 2 miles from home one Sunday morning. At a certain point, when you’re already soaked through, there’s no harm in inviting the cars to splash you - from a safe distance, that is

Well crap, this is the second fatal black bear attack this year in Canada that I’ve posted here.
