The positive side of things

I’m recovering from a knee injury (patellofemoral articulation fissure and baker cyst). Doctor said no running for a few weeks, no leg presses, no squats and moderate bike efforts if at all. In other words just use my legs to walk.

Yesterday I had my first ride in almost 3 weeks. For the first time in a long time I was able to just enjoy the good weather, look at the scenery… No heart rate monitor, no cadence, no avg speed to worry. I even helped a lady and her young girl fix a flat tire. Usually I only stop to help cute single women

The point is that at least yesterday I wasn’t frustrated about my injury… I was just enjoying the fact that I can still ride my bike with little pain. Being injured gave me a chance to understand that I was paying too much attention to my training and letting it become a stress in my life as opposed to being out there enjoying the sport.

I hope I can keep the good attitude because sooner or later I’m going to be frustrated about not being able to push myself to the fullest.

By the way any tips on how to deal with this kind of injury are welcome
