The Lucero is also a nice ride. I have never ridden a disk and I gave it some serious consideration when picking out wheels, but in the end I felt the 606 would be the more versatile way to go. Of course I could have went with a set of HED Stinger 5.0 and a HED DISC for the same money and been more versatile. Decisions… Decisions…
1:07 for a 40k isnt bad at all.
You arent a poser at all. Its not like you are averaging 16 mph
Did I mention my fastest 10K in a tri was 53 min. (although I did do a 12K in a tri. in 58 min. at the end of last summer)? Definitely lots of room for improvement, but it gives me some to-dos for the coming winter.
Basically I could just quit after the swim and know approximately where I will finish. Here is an example: 72nd of 154 out of the water, 38th on the bike, but only 110th on the run. End result: 73rd just about dead center MOP.
Come to think of it, I think I need to swim some more too.
If your bike starts to rust, it’s because I am drooling all over it.
QR … if you ever get to the point where the sight of that bike just makes you sick to your stomach … I will take it off your hands to ease your pain and disgust.
We need a “red bike v. black bike” debate thread. The more I see black bikes, the more attractive they look.
Nice post. Exellent viewpoint. Thanks.
Oh…and PS…nice bike! ![]()
nice bike!! ;>)
can you give some details regarding your behind the saddle bottle holder?? what brand? i have the same saddle and i’ve had a hard time finding a good solution.
thx’s for any info.
Right on brother!
No worries from my corner. It’s people like you that are keeping the bike business going. It’s the higher end bikes, just like higher end everything, where the real margins are for everyone, not the mid to slightly lower priced entry level bikes where the margins have been ground down to the last penny! Keep it up. It’s all good!

I will be riding that bike (and that seat) at IMFL as well! Different wheels and handlebars, but damn it’s a nice bike, right? So don’t worry about it!
And I am scared to death of swimming in the ocean. I’m an ok swimmer, and did IMFL last year, standing on the beach shaking because I was so scared. Up until then, I had never been in the ocean past my knees because of that. But it was ok. Remember, when you’re on a buffet table, the chances of the sharks eating you go way down! But they’re out there…believe me. In the Gatorade swim the day before, my two friends had to swim on my sides because I was too scared to swim alone…when I read it it really sounds pathetic, but oh well.
And nice bike!
