The official Stage 18 ITT stage thread (spoiler)

Ignatiev’s time of 48.46 is best for now, even though Rogers and Grabsch already went. So where will sit Ignatiev sit at the end of the day in terms of stage placement? What times will we see from Cancellara and all the contenders for the top 10? Will Evans pull one out of the hat?

Sparticus :20 seconds down at the first check. He must be tired from working for his teammates, unlike Lance and Contador, who are tired from working for themselves.

Kidding!!! Let’s keep this about today’s ITT.

I am amazed at these times
Many people talk about ‘breaking the hr’ for a 25mile TT
These guys are into a three week tour, have just done the queen stage and will be mid to high 40s !
Awesome…

Cancellera in 48:33 ?

even better, think about the wattage.

I can break an hour on about 250 watts. These guys are pushing close to 500 watts to go only 12 minutes faster or 5 mph. 2x the watts for only a fifth of the time.

I was out on the course. Cancellera just finished-I think 48:33.

They certainly have a great method of clearing the course-5 cars 2 in each lane behind the rider who is lead by a moto. Ain’t no one going in that road!

Cancellara is a monster. Now can anyone beat his time?

Millar, Wiggins, Zabriskie?

Zabriski is behind-according to race clocks-
.

coverage just started here on the west coast…are you kidding me?! 48:33?!

very flat course expect 1 cat3 climb then downhill ALL the way to town-Cancellera special!

really? versus just reported that zabriskie caught his 4 minute man. they’re interviewing cancellara right now. he’s saying it’s pretty windy, there is a lot of false flat on the course and it’s harder than it appears.

I was comparing Z with Cancellera-Z should be in soon

No, doubtful, No

looks like captain america is 49:32 4th position atm
.

4 minute spread - crap.

I am surprised that the officials have Kloden/Armstrong and F. Schleck/A. Schleck. They usually split teammates if they happen to follow each other in the GC. Not that either Armstrong or A. Schleck will make up nearly as much as 3 minutes on Kloden or F. Schleck.

It’s starting to look pretty dark out here.I wonder if those predicted storms are going to hit the last guys.

.

Yup. It’s raining now. Looks like Cancellara can celebrate.
