The Official, All Encompassing, Lionel Sanders Thread

Doesnt say where his food was sourced from. Pancakes from dennys or olympic training center where they have nutritionists? I went to a D1 school… the athletic teams had a separate cafeteria with higher quality food. This d1 school has multuple repeat national championships

If Lionel just had used real honey in 2024 instead of Chinese rice honey he would be world champion right now.

The same guys that tell people not to eat sugar and just eat meat and fats etc have heart attacks 3-5 years after these diets . And then you have some old guy that lives to 95 that lives on chips, beer and sausages.

The dumbest thing is the world how much people think food choices fix so many things in your body from inflation to heart stress to life expectancy.

I said food choices not amounts !!! No such thing as a bad food just bad quantities.

Sooo you are trying to suggest his diet of ice cream, chocolate-chip pancakes, pizza, energy drinks with lunch AND dinner etc might have been ‘healthy’ depending on where they were sourced from?

The internet…why…do…I…bother…

As long as those ‘calories’ beyond basic maintenance are burnt off, yes

That’s not what you responded though. You said it depends on where they were sourced from…

This video makes me wonder how things would be different for Lionel if he had started swimming as a young child

Why do you assume starting swimming as a child leads you to better days ahead ? Lots of kids quit by 18 and avoid endurance sport after years of pool burn out and missed life do to making their local coach’s program sustain further growth.

It’s more likely he would be selling insurance after missing the Canadian college level in swimming and then getting into harder drugs than he did because he has money in his pockets.

The best thing that even Happened to Lionel sanders was sucking at swimming to pursue a goal to improve at a craft rather then stick to drugs .

Things we know!

Lionel’s condition right now? Not sure how truthful his diagnosis is.

Could more likely be due to his past drug addiction than this food shit you guys are discussing.

Lionel’s best accomplishment has been becoming sober. Not 2 second places in his career at worlds.

Lionel’s decision to make healthier choices should be based off providing for his family rather than trying to get YouTube clicks.

Lionel’s career to compete with the front is likely very over but he’s still human.

I was hoping someone else would bring Phelps’s diet up!!! I’ve used him as an example around 10-12 times over the past 12 yrs.

fan fiction at its finest speculating on what would have happened to ls if he swam as a youngster. thank you mr tri 123 for setting this off.

That’s why we partner with goodlifeproteins.com

Ya but that’s likely because they recruited from among the best high schoolers who wanted to be part of a winning program.

I don’t disagree on the import of good recovery food though, but surely if a poor performance school started feeding good food they wouldn’t have top athletes.

I am wondering, in all this good vs bad diet though:

  • Will LS´new, super improved dietry regimen fix his swim?

  • How can his Whoop Sleep score be consistently over 85% if he wakes up 8x each night??

I can´t wait for this off season to be over  it´s the worst EVER!

I thought about it, his comments about his real sleep quality is basically saying everything I said about whoop in the last years is bulls**t.

I can say that I had a WHOOP 4.0 and I wake up ONCE at night, and my sleep score was below 40% consistently, as WHOOP cannot link Sleep Session 1 (before waking up) and Sleep Session 2 (after waking up), so WHOOP only registered my first 3-4h of sleep.
Wrote WHOOP about it and they mentioned that I could add the second sleep sesh manually, but that it would not affect or count-in on my sleep score
So need got beyond the trial period and WHOOP got their tracker back.

Can´t see how waking up 8x a night would make this anything better - but I guess that (sponsor) money talks…

Can we please agree that burgers are made with minced meat and not steak?

Isn’t mince just chopped up steak…?

Total aside but the best burger I ever had was a place that ground up the filets.

Too bad they went out of business (clearly not charging enough)

That would make for a very expensive burger

If a burger patty was 100% meat (it rarely is, as there’re additives added often), then there’re 2 additional aspects:

  1. type of meat used for minced product is usually higher in fat than any steak
  2. due to further processing the steak would always be richer in vitamins (if not ‘well done’) compared to a burger (which almost always is ‘well done’)

But what does that proof. It’s a n 1 not a study .
