Ah - thanks for opening up this thread (taking the discussion from the LS thread). Will just copy my latest reply here: One BIG factor of why having a coach keeps you motivated, is the “commitment” or coach/athlete agreement, that both parties promise to serve in the relationship. I have worked (in a prior life) trying to automate this to big groups of athletes, such as a e.g. 200 corporate people in cycling, and it is not easy (to automate).
