The "Norwegian Method" Coaching App

I think the key to the “norwegian” method is intensity control, but the secret sauce in it is in how they measure that- iE consistent lactate testing. Which imo makes it very very unrealistic to AG athletes. Such that how intensity control is measured will simply be what you as an athlete have access to (stop watch, PM, HR, gps, RPE only etc).

From Olav himself in the article:
“Both lactate measurement, sports sensors and intensity control will be vital parts of the product. The ambition is to take a leading position in sports technology globally.”

So I think this will work for any athlete whether they get the full “norwegian” experience or their only metric is RPE etc. Like there will be most who’s intensity metric will simply be RPE + power number, not a constant lactate value. And so this will be successful for most athletes, I simply pushed back @lightheir about bragging on the method, because I don’t think many will actually get the same full “norwegian” experience that he’s bragging on. That method is far to intrusive on every day AG athletes.

Eta: so it’s not to hate on it, but probably more to showcase just how detailed their daily training and programming is. Like it looks from afar that it is very very detailed and lactate is very important. I just don’t think that is then doable on an AG scale to the level of that detail. It will simply be scaled to what each athlete has accessible to them.
