The "Norwegian Method" Coaching App

I’m hoping the AI-stuff works better, but having been burned so badly by them, it’s understandable I won’t go back. For what it’s worth, I’ve successfully used 5-6 other plans with excellent results, so I’m not clueless with choosing the right plan or adjusting them if it’s too hard/easy for the day.

I looked at the Olympic mid-volume plan again a couple of months ago and just shrugged. With or without adaptive training, it’s still two threshold sessions a week. What adaptive training will do is make those sessions easier if you’re “failing” them. Then you’re left with two half-assed threshold sessions a week instead of one moderately-hard or hard session that will really push you forward.

Also, adaptive training is a bit stupid because if you mark a VO2max session as “hard”, it asks you why it was hard. I mean it’s VO2max for Chrissakes, even if the work interval is short and the recovery reasonable and total time at VO2max far from what I can achieve, how is my RPE ever going to be low?

So, Trainerroad was not redeemed by adaptive training. Don’t get me started on the run workouts either.
