Just saw this posted on Cervelo’s facebook page. Looks like a totally new frame at the same price point as last year’s S2. It looks to have some very nice touches that take into account the reality of actually riding and working on a bike.
PS - I still wish that Cervelo would resurrect the S1. Still, subjectively speaking, the best-feeling aero road bike I’ve ever ridden. That bike was light years ahead of its time.
I believe the S2 is identical to the S3 except for the fork, as well.
I just wish they’d get a graphics designer.
I wonder if they’re eliminating the S3? It doesn’t seem to show up on their website anymore.

whoa
weird
well you can always replicate it by ordering the good fork =)
From the websight: ‘‘The S2 pioneered aero road bike’’ Never mind all the aero bikes that came before it, including the Kestrel 4000 from the 80’s
.
P2 with road bars…
P2 with road bars…
Hmm, vastly different geometry than the p2, twice as many bottle cages too. =)
Damn, this bike looks great also black and blue is a killer nice color combo. I want that S2. I just need to get done with school and all life priorities.
2850 for 105/tiagra?
cervelo used to be really good bang for the buck… now i’m not so sure.
notice how thin the seat stays are, and the cutout for the rear wheel,
revised bottle mounting area, looks a lot like the s3.
edit: r501 wheels are 1900+ gms?
at least it’s only the cassette and chain that are tiagra.
so what fork would make it better?
another edit:
nytro has 105 chain and cassette, still with fsa gossamer compact crank. they also claim availability November 29.

I’ve nearly convinced myself that the new S2 is an identical frame to the S3. Any pro photoshopers or pixel peepers think this S2 picture is a clever photoshop of the S3?
Hi Pantelones,
I’m convinced too! In fact you’re exactly right - the S3 and S2 frames are exactly the same under the paint.
Cheers,
Does this mean that the S3 disappears now, or is there an actually new S3 in the works?
I gotta admit, I don’t really understand just changing the decals and the paint and then announcing that there’s a “new” S2.
Damon - curious as to why the change to the DT routing for the shift cables?
The forks differ, that is the only difference. S3 has a more aero fork.
As for DT routing - saves money, saves weight, has minimal aero impact especially with Di2

And is a easy to spot difference between the S2/3 and the S5, and perhaps enough to move a customer up to a S5.
Hi Craig,
Thanks for asking. The S3 was “shown” at the trade shows (Eurobike, Interbike) but not “launched” yet. It’s in the works but not yet available, so we’ve left it off our web site until it is.
Yeah, the timing is a little awkward, with the S2 being ready before the S3, but we’ve already begun delivering the S2, while the S3 is still some months away. Your Cervelo retailer will have the most accurate timing for local delivery of these two new models.
Cheers,
Since it’s going to come up in this thread eventually, Damon. I am correct in remembering that the new incarnation of the S3 mirrors the aerodynamics of the S5, based on what we saw from the tradeshows?
