Me either. My son texted me the other day that I had to watch the trailer. I think he is making a play for a subscription to Disney+. It might be working.
$6.99 per month or $69.99 for 12 months, the price is right for a test drive. I’d like to see a little more new content up front.
There is a special deal right now for $4 a month if you commit to 3 years.
Can you pay the fee for the entire 3 years or is it another monthly charge? I might consider it if you can pay all at once. I hate recurring payments.

Hun, so low has the bar been set with their previous attempts that I find it hard to get excited by the flash of a good looking trailer.

Ugh. I’d like to drop something and pick up Disney’s streaming, but don’t know what to drop.
Hulu basic is free with Spotify Premium. I cannot drop Spotify Premium, as I use it constantly and the downloads save me a ton of phone data & results in a more stable stream when I’m listening while riding the bike in rural areas. This is the one I’d keep out of all options.
Amazon Prime TV hardly gets used in our house, but my wife would commit mutiny if she suddenly had to wait 5 days for her free Amazon shipping instead of 1-2. With my once a month Amazon order, I can live with better pre-planning or waiting but Mrs. MidwestRoadie? Nope, zero patience and zero tolerance for actually having to order what you want instead of 13 things to decide on the 1 you might want just to go through the hassle of returning 12.
Netflix gets used constantly by all of us. Maybe it will ultimately be Netflix that gets the ax, but I cannot see that happening for another year or so until they’re forced to respond to dwindling content.
This whole “it will be cheaper when we cut the cord” thing bit me in the ass when our Netflix option suddenly expanded once we got Prime and then again when I discovered the magic of Spotify Premium & the included Hulu.

I always wonder about cutting the cord and if it would truly be cheaper. After I get rid of “the bundle” my internet price would jump up to $50 per month. I would have to add up the streaming services we would want. We have Netflix through T-mobile and have Amazon prime. Is there must haves besides those? I would still want local channels for football and hockey.
Good question. I don’t watch many live sports, save for cycling and occasionally a bit of hockey, but I’ve found other options for those through friends giving me their streaming log-ins (listening to the Vuelta stage streaming on a mobile device at the moment while I work). None of the services really seem to be ideal and the user interface to find content isn’t fantastic, still leading to a good bit of “channel surfing,” for lack of a better term.
I’m still of the mind streaming as we currently know it isn’t the end game and it will be more like the brief stand-in Palm devices provided for convenient utility for a while then earlier cell phones that offered limited internet and built in apps, an appealing taste of what’s to come, later to be replaced by something substantially better. What that is goes beyond what my brain can envision, but there has to be something better on the horizon.

The only way you get the $4 is to pay 36 months up front (i.e. $150-ish). No recurring payment at that price point

I watched Episode 1 this morning. I gave it a solid B. A few too many Phantom Menace type scenes. Run time was 39 minutes, so I assume all episodes are about that long.
