Have any of the other Aussies here noticed that the magpies are starting to gather into small groups and are planning their spring campaign?
It’s time to practice sprinting and ducking I’d say!!

They’re not called Shrimp. They’re prawns!!!
And we don’t drink Fosters!! giggle
Not bad Tibbs, not bad.
But to give a really good impression of an Ocker you have to not wash for a week and then shag your sister.
If you do that I think they make you an honorary citizen, or some such.
At least, it worked for me.
already got swooped last week - no blood fortunately - bastards!
Nah, you’ve gotta shag your mates sister…no banjos down here
.
Oh alright. I go there about twice a year for business etc, and it is a bloody fine place.
God, I can’t believe I just said that…
…tell you what, your mate’s sister was a bloody cracker sunshine.
Top girl allround. Give my regards.
My favourite NZ saying is " ewe is rooted". Just not sure what it means.
Hey Kiwipat…
…your sister says ‘hi’. Shes safely under my ass when I hop onto my front seat sheepskin covers!
Mate, you are welcome to her.
Nothing but trouble. I hope you’ve got some earplugs.
It’s ok Pat - we know all of NZ is secretly wanting to become the 7th state of Australia.
And no doubt, you’ll remind us that immigration from NZ to Australia increases the IQ of both countries … ![]()
BTW - Sydney City Council has posted warnings this morning around the intersection of Pitt Street and Bond Street warning of dive-bomb attacks by currawongs!
Watch out kiwipat, the immigration dept is after you for a comment like that…
NO true kiwi would utter such waffle about Oz!
too true, too true…
I had better be careful because at the moment I couldn’t outrun the buggers either.
Hey, if you couldn’t outrun the immigration officials, you’re doing better than me!
I couldn’t outrun the Otara overstayers right now! ![]()
Man I gotta get my run legs back soon! I think the 1000m of kick in the pool the other night might have sent them into hiding. (certainly felt like they took a hiding!)
wow. Why that much kick?
My thing is trying to kick soft, just to keep my legs up. That is when I go fastest. Every now and again we get given big sets of kick and I hate it, can’t really see the point in it.
Whaddyou think?
I have Haydn Wooley as my swim coach. He comes across as a nice bloke, but is “son-of-satan” in my opinion. While he has the fastest recorded IM swim time (unofficial since he pulled ahmstring onthe run and DNF’d) he seems to think that having a good kick is essential for all of us. He might be right but MAN does it hurt.
It sure beats gettingout of the pool every couple of hudred metres and doing 10 push ups and then diving back in again to do it all over!
right, down at the Teps eh?
Well, he has a rep as a good coach, so he would know. How far do you go in his sessions - are they real hammer fests or not so bad?
Haydn is actually an excellent coach. As a past ski instructor and coach, I appreciate his skills. Technically he is awesome as a coach. He is extremely enthusiastic and very motivating. He also realises that not all of us are after the swim prime! and that we are primarily swimming for fun. If we show motivation, he will push us hard. If we are going through a “socializing phase” as I am right now, he lets us away with skipping parts of the set as we decide and doesn’t razz us too much. He is a top bloke.
He runs morning 90 min), lunch (60 min) and evening (75min) squads. For the fast lane in the morning, they will do between 3-5000m depending onthe season. Lunch is 2.5km to 3.2 km and nights are usually somewhere around 3.5km. Slower lanes do less.
He has put out a very good CD swim video of all the strokes and drills from multiple angles. I recommend it. He also does very good private lessons with video(emailed to you if youwant) and he has aranged special video sessions form small groups with a good Channel 3 videographer. Top bloke, focussed on getting his clients to be as good as they can be.
Join us some time.
