When I was young, my grandparents owned a farm on top of a ridge. Pease AFB was still a thing back in the 80’s, and one of their training routes brought them right up over that ridge line, low over the trees, over my grandparent’s farm.
When you see a B-52 that looks like it’s gonna scrape it’s belly on the trees, and when you wave to them as a little kid and they clearly see you because they dip their wings to say, Hi… it’s an impression that is unshakable for the entirety of your life. Wish I had pics.
