Only a couple hundred miles on the new cleats and they are already squeking…again. This is driving me nuts(and probably anyone else I am riding with) and I am about to throw the #%&@ing things in the trash. Tried cleaning the pedals and putting some lube on the rubber part of the cleat, but I am still getting the squeak. This used to happen only when the cleats were getting worn out. Time for new pedals or does someone else have a solution that has worked?

Did my first ride with them yesterday. Might do the trick. The white bits are supposedly Teflon impregnated.
WD-40 is the only thing that has worked for me. Lasts for a while, too.
Get a candle and rub it on the cleat. Works every time.
The only thing that has worked for me is a new pair of Shimano SPD-SL
.
ski or candle wax, teflon spray, kriton spray(McLube), armor-all, all work
if it starts up while you’re riding, wipe your forehead, unclick, reach down and wipe your facial oil/sweat/sunscreen on the front edge of the cleat. Sounds gross but it works really well. you can easily do this without stopping. I do this all the time and it usually kills it till the end of the ride.
if you’ve worn down the leading edge of the cleat too much, then nothing seems to work.
I second Armor All - spray on pedal, spray on cleat platform. Simple!
a few riders in my club had the same experience. We tried everything but the squeak always came back until we rode in a all day rain.Maybe soak your shoes in a bucket of water.
