My wife has the same complaint about male tri fashion sense in general…“do all of you guys have to wear a white top with black shorts?”. I have to reply, "Hey, all my business suits are pretty well dark pants and suit jackets and a white or lightblue or if I get really creative a pin stripe shirt. Tri fashion just follows from that. My attempts to diversify outside the white top, black shorts race day gear have been dramatic failures.
I think the best men’s tri gear was the Ralph Lauren stuff that Tim De Boom had a while back, but at this point in my life where I have less hair growing on my hair than my chest, it is pretty well hopeless to attempt to evolve to any tri fashion sense. I could not even do it with business suits or men’s casual clothing…its just not in my DNA.
Of course, I don’t think I am fast enough to get away with any Spencer Smith type tri fashion anyway.
