Here is a new one on my algorithm. A 24 year old American Fitness/Lifestyle influencer who has decided to do an IM70.3. Kind of America’s answer to Natascha Oceane.
According to his IG, he’s been doing a bunch of them
The way he works with sketches and cut-ups, without using digital until the design is complete and ready for production, is very much in my own wheelhouse — he’s much better at it than I am, honestly
I especially like that - as far as I can see - no one is asking “How much did they pay you?”
He could be editing those posts out of the feed, of course, but I’m sure he didn’t do all this work on spec (at least I HOPE not)
Many years ago, after I’d left the Ad Agency, I did some pro bono work for a friend of mine for a 5K she was promoting up in Boston. I designed a shirt, as well as the race flyer (remember those?) It had all the pertinent info: race time & place, a course map (sent faxed me a map of Boston, with the course marked out, which I recreated to the best of my ability), fees, text about the charity the 5K was supporting and the - most importantly - entry form to be sent back
For my troubles, I got a shirt; which eventually went to Goodwill
Adidas + Satisy have been teasing this all weekend
It was just as I had feared. One of those ridiculous “what if we try this?” race ideas that I’m kinda known for (in my own house and among my friends, anyway)
