The IM Chat between Frankie Andreu and Jonathan Vaughters

The IM conversation came up again today in the NY Times:

Here’ the CyclingNews story based on the L’Equipe article back in October of 2006:

Nothing new, but thought it might be relevant for those new to the game in light of the Landis allegations.

As for more recent info, I just read that two of the accused have been contacted by USADA and are considering their options:

Hincapie and Barry (as well as Lance and Bruyneel) have issued denials. Who does that leave?

I usually am not a fan of video when I’m web surfing, but I found the video of Allen Lim responding to questions re. the Landis allegations more interesting than texts I had read:

Does anyone know where there might be a video of Michael Barry, George Hincapie, or others answering the inevitable questions?

Tyler and Frankie are probably the most likely to cooperate, in my opinion.

Just reread one of the early VeloNews articles, and realized that while Rihs and Ochowicz from BMC had issued denials, George’s statement wasn’t so clear:

Here’s the relevant excerpt:
BMC Racing Team president Jim Ochowicz and George Hincapie also issued statements.
“The BMC Racing Team is aware of the allegations leveled against some of its management team and one of its riders, U.S. national champion George Hincapie. These allegations are not true, absolutely unfounded and unproven. This is disappointing to anyone who works in the sport or is a fan of the sport,” said Ochowicz.
As for Hincapie, he said: “I have been a professional on the circuit for 17 years – which is one of the longest careers in the peloton. During that time, I have earned the respect of my peers and a reputation for working hard, honestly and honorably. I’m really disappointed to hear these accusations.”

The scariest thing about the Lim interview was that it seems like Ray Ban Wayfarers are coming back in style.
