The Giant OCR2 is back on the block and your picking the owner

How hard is it to post once a week and keep in touch?

I guess that qualifies–its better than my family.

However, it looks like you are still in the control mode.

my GF says if I buy one, she’ll dump me.
Sounds like a win-win. Probably best for her, too.

That “Wiley” guy did that too, when he supposedly gave away the Forerunner 201.

There must be some story I’m missing about these Garmin units. Is there a secret handshake or something?
There was a wealthy entrepreneur that used to post here named JoeMWiley whoe gave away a Forerunner 201 to whoever could come up with the best training mantra in some limited number of words. He’s dead now.

Here’s my appeal:

My business partner and I just signed an agreement linking our coaching/training service to a local juniors racing team. We are providing them with coaching services for the entire team for the full season. Do the math on what coaching services cost, and you can figure out how substantial a committment this is for a team of 20 or so.

If you send me the frame, I will pass it along to the kids. Someone new will ride the frame every season until it finally dies a heroic death.

MH

I ride a steel frame that I can’t even lift with 1 hand. It had double brake levers and foam-covered dropbars. It still has down-tube shifters. But, I hammer rides out with guys on p2k’s and litespeeds, all hills, all 30 pounds. Luckily, I was able to squeeze on an 8-speed cassette, up from the 5. I’ve got it running pretty well, and love working with mechanical things- car maintenance, bike care, sewing projects, anything.

Why do I ride this steel-beast? I’m in grad school and bikes aren’t free.

PS. My second water bottle cage is duct-taped to the frame.

I’m 6’0". My bike is monstrous - maybe equivalent to XL, so this would fit MUCH better. Put 3200 miles on it last year, hoping for more this year, so I know what I am getting myself into.

Tibbo, I know it’s not my business, but, fredly has been working on this coaching angle for quite a while. It’s been a leap of faith for him in many ways, at least, it seems that way to me. Having this bike go to a bonafide coach of a bonafide junior’s team could give you a boner…I mean a bonafide warm feeling that that could last longer than a 17 year-old that robbed the local pharmacy of all it’s Viagra/Cialis. (Side note, the marketeers really came up with a good name for this drug, Cialis. It’s pronounced “see alice”, as in: Go “see Alice” for a good time.)

If it’s back on the block, I think technically it belongs to Jenny.

“Used to have a little now I got a lot
I’m still, I’m still Jenny from the block.”

**There was a wealthy entrepreneur that used to post here named JoeMWiley whoe gave away a Forerunner 201 to whoever could come up with the best training mantra in some limited number of words. He’s dead now. **

Whoa. Those Forerunners must carry some ancient curse- try to give one away for free, and WHAMMO!- you drop dead, never to be heard from again, still clutching the 201 in your cold, dead fingers.

Bump you bitches bump!

One thing real quick. I will be taking size into account. The frame is large so the Giant rules say 5’10 to 6’2. Please update your posts with hieghts.

tibbs, I vote for jhk2828. He is the best so far

Vote noted and thank you for getting involved. It’s a family project after all.

6’ have a 10 year old Huffy MTB, never been athletic 30 minute walk was my kind of exercise. Weight yo-yoed 4 times in past 4yrs between 240-190. With 3 kids under 8 I have to due something. I have told everyone I know I will do a sprint tri this fall.

2 promises:

I live 30 minutes from Bikesport so Tom will fit the bike.

If folks are interested I will post at least weekly on my Trials and tribulations / Progress preparing for the triathlon. If people are interested I’ll start the thread without the bike.

100 Words.

“If people are interested I’ll start the thread without the bike.”

I’m interested. Post it on the Lavander page and help me change that place.

Bumpy
.

Tibbs, as you probably know, I don’t need your bike, but I think if you are insisting that the person who gets in stays in the family, then we should all get to vote (1 each) on the winning entry.

Throw it open to the peaceful tribe mate and good things will happen.

You got it.

Every one continue post for the bike. On the 19th of January voting will start at 0930 and end at 2130. The votes will be added up and the winner will be happy.

I will post a new thread for the voting and only votes on that thread count.

Since the orginal owner finds somethings very important, it staying in the family for example, I have the right to veto a vote.

Write. Vote. Dance. Control freak. I’ll bet your family hates you.

You have no idea.

I say go with the kids team. We could also put together a TSR adopt a kids team and make this bigger than 1 bike.
