I miss Elmer Fudd. The latest commercial Geico lizard where they have it looking like out-takes is awful.
And while we’re complaining about commercials.
I HATE the latest State Farm commercials where they sing “I have blah blah insurance…”. I HATE THEM.
While I’m hating, the Direct TV commercials are horribly annoying, as are the Sonic commercials.
I usually hit the mute button when any of the above commercials come on. So whatever they’re trying to communicate to me gets lost.
Direct TV?
You mean the ones with the “Genie” who looks like a sexed up Olsen twin?
There’s a button on your remote that can help you with this. It’s generally found at the top, usually colored in a reddish hue (although these new, fandangled remotes are experimenting with different colors). The button tends to be labeled with, “Power” “On/ Off” or “Standby”. Point the remote at the TV and press that button. Your problem will be solved.

Yeah, those commercials. The Genie part doesn’t annoy me, just the rest of it.

I think the reason I dislike the lizard so much is the accent. There is a dj on one of my favourite local radio stations that sounds exactly like the lizard. Every time he speaks, I have to turn the volume down. Is that a cockney accent or something like that? No offense meant to those with the accent, normally it doesn’t bother me, but this guys tone annoys, therefore so does the lizard. Not cute at all.
I don’t get why so many ads are just over the top annoying. Do you really want an ad that makes people scrambling for the remote?
The gecko has gotten tedious but Direct TV just makes me want to get violent.
If you are watching live TV the proper button is the pause button, then you can fast forward through the ad. Or the go back button which takes you back to the porn channel while the ad is on.
