The difference between the Trek TTX and the Trek TT

Here’s what I’ve noticed:

I see three “major” differences.

  1. The head tube. They’ve changed the head tube slightly to account for the headset. (“aero”)

  2. The downtube. They’ve bladed part of it. It acutally looks more QR Tiphoonish than Cervelosque.

  3. The top tube. Has anybody else notcied the “dimple/dent” that runs along the silver part? I can only guess that this is supposed to help direct airflow around and with the top-tube as it meets the seattube. It’s a nice idea, I see little aero benefit for it, but I’ll bet it’s a legitimate gimmick.

Hello, They’ve said that the toptube dent is to provide stiffness.

Styrrell

also the seat mast. the production tt frame seat mast has a seatpost inside.

lance’s seat mast has no seat post, just a few spacers at the top. this is how trek made the first of the trek tt consumer frames, but now they don’t.
