Does any one know his story? I always like seeing him along the different stages.

I found out his name & he started in 1992. He’s from Germany & is a bike enthusiasts.
Didi, Le Diable:
Didi has always been a cycling enthusiast. In 1992, a dream came true: He visited the Tour de France for the first time, and he did so year by year. The most TV spectators know him as the “Devil of the Tour de France”
Check out the new Giro Commercial with The Tour’s Devil. It’s really funny.
Classic!
That was freakin’ sweet.
Thanks for the great link.
some trivia:
He is sponsered from LUK (car parts) - there is a logo on his dress
He had to pay several thousand Euro penalty for writing something on the road during this years Tour de Suisse.
regards,
Frank

I met Didi during the 2003 Tour. He doesn’t ever seem to actually say anything legible, even to his mates who he travels with. I’m pretty sure he doesn’t speak English, or if he does he certainly keeps it to himself. Everybody knows him, all the Tour caravan guys stop and give him extra supplies, the police stop and say hi. He is an absolute blast and good fun. Of his mates, there was one (Dutch from recollection) who was a big Rabobank fan, don’t know what his name was because Didi just called him “Rabo”. A girl that I met during the Tour spent a couple of days hanging out with his group, she was an Aussie from Melbourne, of course Didi referred to her as “Melbourne”. Funny guy, full of energy, a real character.
I just read a short French “comic” book on the Tour (“comic” books are very big in France) and in the book’s short explanation of the Tour they included Le Diable and explained who he was. I thought that was pretty cool, he’s a comic book hero too !!
Does anyone know where I can find the pic of Didi from some years ago where he is jumping up and scaring a rider in a remote area of a time trial. I thought I saw the pic here, but can not find it now.
We met him at the Tour last year and for some reason he was in green instead of red. He wasn’t as wierd as I thought he’d be and I spoke German to him so I don’t know if he speaks English.
His “worlds largest bike”, or something like that:

LOL… sorry about the HUGE pic… I did the TINYpic thing but I guess “tiny” is relative
Better perspective on how large the bike is:
.
I take it he did not have his “Lance” and “Bush” signs displayed when your kids got the autographs? ;>)

Yes, I think you are right–on closer look that pic does look a little “off”!
