Chicago Blackhawks get to tote Lord Stanley’s Cup around for the next year.
In the last 25 years, Chicago has won a title in all 4 major sports. Nice.

Congrats to the Blackhawks!
Good to see the Blackhawks win.
CNN sports had a good interview with the Golden Jet and Stan Makita including vintage footage from their win in 1961. It was quite a contrast with todays game, the players look like they were standing still. I cringe though as none of the players are wearing helmets and the goalies were maskless. No wonder most of them had no teeth…
I’m always happy when it goes to one of the original six. They played a solid series
Stanley Cup finals in high-def + sound turned way up with the Philly fans going crazy after the tying goal = awesome. Also, no penalties called in the 3rd period and OT. Talk about letting them play, unlike the NBA finals. Would have loved to have seen a game 7 though.
Nothing like hockey on a huge HD plasma. What a game.
Everyone on the ice was all out and it made for a great game.
Go Panthers. Oh wait… that’s next year. ![]()
CS
I’m glad a Team with such GREAT History got to bring a Cup home after SO MANY years … I guess that means we’ll get another shot next year???
Happy to see the Hawks win as well. I have to give props to the Flyers fans (who have a long-held reputation as being among the toughest in the league) who seemingly all stayed for the presentation of the Cup. Another moment at the end that was nice was Jeremy Roenick in tears at the analysts desk, saying that he knew how much the Cup win meant to long-suffering Hawks fans and how tough it was to lose in the '92 Finals to the Penguins. Mike Milbury initially teased him for being so emotional but then added that he knew what is was like to lose in the Finals as both a player and a coach and how difficult the playoff grind was just to get a shot at playing for the Cup in the first place.

Is that Sprint, Olympic, ITU Long Course, and Ironman? ![]()
The won it for the gipper.
Glad to see the Hawks win… and more importantly Philly lose.

Hey, we *appreciate *hard work, determination and a worthy opponent; especially one who’s had a long bought of adversity
But!!! … if you think you’re a freakin’ big shot for doing your freakin’ job only one freakin’ day a year, we WILL throw snowballs at your freakin’ head
It was good to see the show of respect and appreciation, much better than seeing fans dart for the exits as soon as the game ended. Flyers had an amazing post-season run after getting in on a shootout in the last regular season game.
Don’t forget the WHOLE Bruins series … That’ll become legendary, I’m sure
As a lifelong Bruins fan going back to the Orr/Espo glory days, I will never forget. Congrats on your season.
I grew up in CT and moved here in September '73, so I know all about late '60s-early '70s Bruins … An 11 year-old changes loyalties pretty quickly in a new town

x2. The only consolation was that it wasn’t the Canadiens again.
If I had the cup for a day I would definitely eat some cereal from it, or I would bathe my dog in it, or I would watch some porn with it. No matter what, I would drink some cheap beer from it.

I still can’t believe the Blackhawks traded Phil Esposito to the Bruins. What a dumb trade. He was centering for Bobby Hull and was just becoming great.

I still feel good about Da Bears winning the Super Bowl in 1985.
