The cost of hydration

How much do you pay for water bottles?

I have to pay in Euros, so my price is higher than I like to think about.

As little as I can.

Some bottles I have are $1.49, some are as high as $4.00. I use the previous year’s Elite Tour de France bottle and typically get them for about $3.

nothing----last year I drove the bike course of the wildflower long course and picked up about 30 bottles that were dropped right after one of the aid stations. I also found a Lemond windbreaker, a tubular tire and pieces of aerobars and stuff.

after i washed them thoroughly, they work great.

Now that is Secondhand Racing.

been trying to get the bottles as cheaply as possible while being sure the top…that llittle part ya pull out if made of soft plastic rather than those hard plastic ones that suck and get stuck. So, maybe $2 -$2.50 per bottle.

I don’t recall ever paying for one.

$15 to $90. They usually come with a t-shirt, a gel packet, a 60 to 100 mile bike ride or a duathlon or a triathlon.

You my friend are a true Secondhander. You may sit at my right side and sing praises of reuse.

I brought this up becxause I was having a hard time finding one for under 5 bucks when I foudn the greatest water bottle in history. It has a photo of Mario Cipollini winning the Milan-San Remo on it.

I love Super Mario. He is one of the greatest modren day racers peroid. Worth the six singles.

I don’t think I’ve ever bought a water bottle in my life, yet I still seem to always have a cabinet full. If you get TSR up and going maybe I’ll mail you some.

-The coolness manifesto, it’s coming

I have never paid for one. Every year at what ever IM I do I end up leaving with 20 or so green Gatoraide bottles that people toss into the woods…and I later fetch (keeping things clean you know) I bet I have about 50 of em.
