So you drive 5 hours you wussy.
If a race is losing participants because the course is difficult the RD has gotta find a way to keep it afloat. That or the RD couldn’t get permits to use the space the old course used.
Seriously though. Montana is the greatest secret in the nation. You can do 100 mile rides with hardly any cars. Go on runs and see Elk and deer. The races I posted are only a 30-45 minute drive to yellowstone national park. If you ride in the morning, traffic is not a problem, early June is the best. Lots of animals, snow just melting, everything green and few tourists. …I have been to Texas, and Texas IS great. Our state is close to the same size but with only a million people.
Wus, no triathlons are easy, just shows that you are not racing hard enough, remember balls to the walls, posibly you a lady??

Forget wussification of races. How about the wussification of this forum. That had to be the lamest attempt of an insult ever.
yup, you know the one.
I wonder if they had to change it for the OAT championships for some reason?
Ways to make the race harder
if it’s too easy, just go faster. Until you win, it’s not too easy. 2nd place is first loser.
move it to tex-ass. (whoop!)run carrying your bike over your head.bike there and home.do push ups every mile on the run.Do butterfly on the swim.do the bike fixed-gear.
That was an insult? I thought it was an attempt at counselling ![]()
If you want a tough du, come to kentucky and check this one out.

is it Guelph? I can’t really see a dramatic change in the difficulty of a course in that neck of the woods no matter how you cut it.
Is there a Mt. Wellington or something that I missed that used to be a key course feature?
It is Guelph. The hill wasn’t huge nor was it steep. But right at the end of the race, if you had gone too hard for the whole race, it was a GREAT place to see who was hurting and how many folks you could pass. It was just enough to take the last bit of energy out of some people and move up a bunch of slots.
Ha! Yes. How about Texas, when its not 105

I say add hand-to-hand combat too!
I’ve done the race twice. the first time it was clear, bluebird skies, and about 90 degrees (2004). The next year there were clouds below the ridgeline, 35 degrees and snowing. never know what you’ll get in august in MT.
I did it in 2004 too. Cool. I thought after doing CDA that year that it woud be a breeze. Wow was I wrong. Its a tough run. Actually very tough to describe to someone.
